Word came in last night: we got the house. The nice house with all the pretty-colored walls and the built-in computer desk in the basement (which I failed to mention before). House #5 in the previously posted Rental Hunt adventure.
We move in November 1!

Now the packing and the blending of the possessions begins. I'll never forget the look on a friend's face the day his fiance moved into his apartment. He said, in grief-sticken tones, "There are bud vases on my television!"
They have since moved into a house and have throughly blended.
Congrats! It's important to like where you're living. I've had to "settle" for too many crap apartments in tight housing markets - that bites.
