Our office occasionally get e-mails from Staples, Office Depot, etc. telling us about the wonderful specials they have going on and offering us a free item if we spend large amounts of money on their wares. Yesterday, we got one offering a free AM/FM Flashlight Radio.
There are combinations that make sense - peanut butter and chocolate, Swiss Army Knives, the first two incarnations of Van Halen - and then there are combinations such as these. Who thought up a flashlight with a built-in radio? Did someone out there say, "This flashlight really helps me see in the dark! Now if only it could sing to me!!!"?
Just seems odd to me. Won't that drain the batteries? The last thing you need in a blackout is a flashlight that doesn't work because you were listening to your local polka station a bit too much.
