Walked Hard

The 2008 Baltimore Walk Now For Autism was the Saturday before last, and Todd and Jason's Supergroup was there to represent! The team actually ended up being a little smaller than planned, as PG's daycare provider and her family ended up not being able to make it. But PG's BFF from daycare and her parents did show up, as did M's friend from Pennsylvania, so we still had a much better showing than the 3-person team from '07 and the two-person team from '06.

Our team ended up raising $1,505, which was pretty respectable, and $505 more than our goal. It wasn't the almost $14,000 that "Brian's Buddies" raised or the $13,000 that "For Jake's Sake" raised, but it'll do.

The overall turnout was even better than last year. I just heard the other day that over 2,000 people showed up! That made for a bit of a traffic jam when we walked into the bottleneck by the University Union entrance, but otherwise, it seemed to go very well.

Former Oriole BJ Surhoff wasn't there this year, that I know of. The other local celebrities that were at the 2007 Walk didn't seem to be there either. I guess the officials were cutting down on expenses, and you can't really argue with that. Besides, a lot more people showed up anyway!

There was a moonbounce for the kids this year, however. PG is a huge fan of jumping, so this was right up her alley.
